The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act has qualified for the November 2012 ballot. Hear about it from Green Party member Stacy Malkan, a spokesperson for the California Right to Know campaign that qualified the measure.
Today, June 9th, 2012, Fairfax Town Councilmember John Reed registered Green.Reed is now the fourth Green Party member on the five-member Fairfax Town Council, where there has been a Green majority since November 2009.Reed released this Green Bio explaining his decision:
The California presidential primary election will be Tuesday, June 5. To vote in the Green primary, you must be registered Green by May 21. Election results will be posted here.
These candidates will be on the Green Party ballot: Roseanne Barr, Kent Mesplay and Jill Stein.
Parker Jean was elected President of the Associated Students of Santa Monica College, the second year in a row a Green has been elected as student body president there.
Green Party state spokesperson Laura Wells says California can change for the better, including with a state bank and keeping only the good parts of Proposition 13.
Please contact your Assembly member now to vote 'no' on AB1413 unless it is amended to preserve write-in voting. Its going to the Assembly Floor the week of January 30th. AB1413 would rob Californians of a democratic right they've had since statehood in 1850 and would do so without a public vote.
